As expected, the English, Scottish, Welsh, Northern Irish and Irish markets are expanding rapidly. Both the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland are rapidly catching up with other European countries in terms of their waste treatment and recycling. 25 Pellenc optical sorting machines will be installed before the end of 2007 in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland. One of the typical British waste streams, known as «Mixed-Plastics», is composed of 40% PET, 40% HPDE and 20% other plastics. Pellenc’s technology sorts this material to outstanding purity and efficiency performances.
