Combustible materials for producing RDFs come from:
-
selective collection of specific fractions such as plastics, wood, paper, cardboard, etc.
-
pre-treatment facilities for household waste
-
sorting facilities for industrial waste or building and demolition waste
The users of these combustible fractions include the cement industry and thermal power plants, who lay down very strict quality criteria in their specifications, (e.g. less than 0.5% chlorine).
At the various stages of the producing combustible fractions, Pellenc ST offers optical sorting solutions such as:
-
the elimination of contaminants such as fractions containing chlorine (PVC, PVDC, etc.), metals, etc.
-
obtaining a homogenous calorific value (or a NCV, net calorific value) of the fuel being produced by specifically separating combustible fractions by family, e.g. fibres, plastics, etc..
-
controlling the quantity of products containing chlorine using a production management software application.
