Pellenc ST is a global leader in optical sorting for the treatment of waste and the recycling industry. Here you will find our latest news and events in which we are participating:
Thursday, January 28, Pellenc ST attended the opening ceremony of the new MSW sorting center of the region of Liepaja on the coast of Latvia. We are very proud to be part of this ambitious project led by the successful Eco Baltia group. Congratulations to our team for their dedication and warm thanks to Eco Baltia for their trust!
Pellenc ST is a partner of Veolia and LERM for CDW Recycling / Life + With its expertise in the optical sorting of waste, Pellenc ST has initiated this project with Veolia and LERM. The CDW Recycling project is co-financed by the European Commission under the LIFE + program. Objectives The project aims to use innovative technologies to solve problems that currently limit the recycling and reuse of building materials and demolition. A pilot plant will be integrated into the sorting of construction waste at Veolia Nice to sort materials 8-30 mm and 30-80 mm on an industrial scale. To do this, Pellenc ST will integrate its Mistral High Resolution optical sorting Machine with NIR technology to sort small fractions. Additional tests on the site will help refine validation settings and process specifications. The new process should demonstrate that it is possible to recover large number of construction and demolition waste, with less impact on the environment compared to traditional management of this type of waste through the production of a fraction CSR (Combustible Solid Waste) and produce a fraction of plaster which can be recovered. To know more, please see the website dedicated to the project CDW Recycling http://www.cdw-recycling.eu/ CDW Recycling in the press http://www.efficient-innovation.fr/veolia_proprete/?lang=en
Genesis of COP21 This month we invite you to discover the construction stages of a Pellenc ST machine. You can follow the construction of the machine, step by step, that is on display at the Derichebourg sorting center at the COP21 in Paris from November 30 to December 11 2015. Frame installation in the production room Step 1: Frame construction, hosing and wiring. The first part to the manufacturing process is to mount the frame of the machine. This includes the placement of the nozzle bar and the scanner box and to provide pneumatic and electrical wiring. Pellenc technician wiring the machine Step 2: Manufacturing of the electrical cabinet. The production team now manufactures the electrical cabinet by incorporating, among other components, the spectrometer cabinet and PC. This is the heart of our technology, endowing the machine with its detection and analysis capabilities. Technician testing the detection of the machine Step 3: Machine set-up and adjustment. This is the material learning phase. Our technicians record samples of materials and store them in the machine database. Each family of material has its own wavelength. The machine will then be able to isolate and separate these materials according to the sort order given. Material and color families created in the machine Step 4 : Quality control, packing and departure from production. After setting up the machine with all its parameters, it will go through our quality control checklist. Final adjustments are made, and then it can now be packed and shipped to its destination. Quality control checks Packed and ready for transport Step 5 : Pre-installation of the machine. Unpacking of machine on site Once the machine arrives on site, it is carefully unpacked and tested again to ensure all hardware and software components are working correctly. This is what is called a “cold start-up” and does not require the presence of a working stream. Step 6 : Full installation and testing on site. Final installation procedure Now that the machine is verified to work correctly, materials will be introduced on the line and final testing will be done under real industrial conditions. Final changes to the machine set-up are made. Step 7 : Mistral sorting machine performing at the COP21. Mistral machine at the COP21 The Pellenc Mistral sorting machine was a big success during the COP21. It helped sort all the waste generated during the conference by all the participants. Pellenc ST and its technology is very proud and thankful to have been chosen to participate in such an important world event.
Newsroom November 26, 2015 Virtual visit From November 30 to December 11, 2015, France will host the 21st UN Conference on Climate Change. The Paris-Le Bourget site was chosen to accommodate the 40,000 people who are expected to attend. By signing a sponsorship agreement in April 2015, the DERICHEBOURG Group will provide the cleaning services and management of all waste generated on the Paris site. More than 300 officers will be mobilized for the duration of the event. To illustrate this approach, the DERICHEBOURG group implanted at the COP21 site the latest generation sorting line. This type of ephemeral construction is a world first in the world of events. The entire unit will be displayed publicly in order to highlight French state of the art technologies for waste management. For this occasion, Derichebourg has chosen to equip its sorting line with a Pellenc ST sorting machine. The Mistral optical sorter combines three technologies: infrared spectroscopy, vision spectroscopy, and induction in order to separate waste according to their material and their color. We are proud to participate in this project which highlights the expertise of French international oriented industries. November 15, 2015 Introducing Stat Pack and Stat Pack viewer. A new and innovative solution to analyze and communicate your waste streams. Available on all Mistral 2G sorting machines. October 23, 2015 Pellenc ST was singled out in an international study by Vivapolis last week illustrating the know-how of French companies in the fight against climate change in cities around the world. The study is presented in light of the up coming Conference of the parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on climate change (COP21), showing a range of projects achieved by the members of Vivapolis. These projects have helped to reduce the emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG) in all sectors of urban activities and on all continents. Pellenc ST was selected for a PET regeneration site in Mexico in which our Mistral optical sorters are helping to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases while increasing performance for the customer’s recycling of PET. You can read more about this Pellenc site and study here : http://vivapolis-climat.com/en/realisations/mexique_recyclage October 21, 2015 Pellenc ST has just opened the doors to its new Technical Center just in front of its headquarters. More than 1000 m² entirely dedicated to optimizing performance, improving equipment quality, and service. The center has been organized into three main sections: prototypes, industrial testing, and training. The prototype area has several laboratories (electronics, electrotechnical, and optics) and is devoted to research projects and the validation of future technologies. “Pellenc ST is proud to have its own integrated R&D service. All of our attention is given to the quality and the reliability of our products.” said Antoine Bourely, R&D Director at Pellenc ST. The center is equipped with all of the technologies available in our industrial catalog. They are available to test new critical components as well as to test the capabilities of the equipment on more than a dozen applications. Furthermore, the center permits the combination of two machines sorting in sequence with different technologies which is also crucial to simulate performances of the machines in real conditions. Finally, a specific area has been created for training our partners, clients and technicians to improve the level of expertise of our Customer Service team. “Thanks to this dedicated space, our customers can be trained on their own machine configurations and in conditions similar to those they find on site.” insists Cédric Bertin, head of Pellenc ST Customer Service. “The company is investing 3 million euros during 2 years for this new industrial center. It was important to give us the means to go even further in our research and development, and to increase the quality and performance of our products.” said Jean Henin, Pellenc ST’s CEO.
