TEXTILE
With the rise in waste from Clothing, Household Linen and Footwear (CHLF) discarded by consumers (around 15kg per person per year in the EU), there is an urgent need to introduce more circularity into this sector.
After initial manual sorting of reusable textiles, the implementation of high-speed automated sorting solutions enables textiles to be extracted and concentrated for mechanical or chemical recycling.
Pellenc ST puts innovation at the service of textile circularity by integrating itself into the textile ecosystem. Building on its partnership with Andritz, this expertise is demonstrated at the Nouvelles Fibres Textile site, a pilot line designed to automatically sort textiles by colour and material, while eliminating hard points and contaminants that disrupt recycling. After sorting complete garments and scraps on Mistral+, Andritz’s delining and shredding solutions transform post-consumer textiles into quality fibres for spinning, non-woven fabrics or chemical recycling.
